If most of your answers fell into the first category, you may have the flu. If most of your answers fell into the second category, it may be a cold. But don't be too quick to brush off the illness as just another cold. The important thing to remember is that flu symptoms can vary and they can change as the illness progresses. Another important thing is to boost your immune system!  This information is not to diagnose or treat any illness. It is for your education. Always consult your medical doctor when you suspect an illness.

Here are some simple tips you can follow to help protect yourself and others from contracting an infection or lessening the severity of a present infection.  These tips will help you reach your health and wellness goals.

1. If you feel like you are coming down with any symptoms at all it is best for you to rest. That's right!  Give yourself permission to take a couple of days off.  The body will heal faster!
2. Always wash your hands, and use a hand sanitizer that kills germs. (For example: Purell) Carry this sanitizer with you, and if you are out and about and think someone has a flu or cold and you come in contact with them use it immediately.
3. Use Anti-bacterial tissues. The infection dies in the tissue within 15 minutes. Otherwise it could stay active for 24 hours in other tissues you may discard at home.
4. Be sure to keep your natural medicine chest stocked with our super potent Cold and Flu remedy. Find out  about our home medicine chest full of herbs and supplements that may fight infection and keep your immune defense in great shape for the season
5. Infections are transferred from person to person by droplets that spew from the nose and mouth when you sneeze and cough. Carry tissues with you and cough into them and then dispose of the tissue. Never sneeze or cough into your hands.
6. Don't share your air. If someone is sneezing or coughing stay a minimum of three feet away. You could inhale the viral or bacterial infection.
7. Don't prepare food for anyone if you are sick, and don't eat food that is prepared by someone who is sick.
8. Don't rub your eyes, nose or mouth without first disinfecting your hands.
9. Do a body detoxification a couple of times a year.
This helps to keep the body free of toxins which can lessen the severity and length of the cold.
